Basic necessity. Not a luxury.
Babies use between 650–1,000 diapers in their first three months of life. It’s a tough bill for a family already struggling to meet basic needs or relying on federal or state assistance programs, none of which include diapers or period products. Without them, babies are exposed to potential health risks and toxic stress. Mothers have a greater risk for maternal depression. Parents may lose access to child care and, in turn, miss work or school. Just because of diapers.
